Spacemaker Builds Airport Crew Terminal
Spacemaker has built a new airport crew terminal and briefing center consisting of a 3,600 sqm two story building at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC - Dubai World Central) in Dubai.
An ambitious timeline combined with a desire to minimise cost meant that modular buildings were an ideal solution.
Spacemaker designed a state of the art briefing center made solely from modular sections.
Working closely with the airline on the design, engineering and materials, the first module was on site within two months of the project commencing.
The build was managed by an onsite team who carefully project managed the installation while liaising closely with airport security staff.
The flexibility of the modular building design allowed the airline to add, remove and modify architectural design with no impact on the building structure. This enabled architectural requirements to be met and was one of significant advantages to the airline, who had never experienced such ease of modification gained from using modular sections.
The resulting semi-permanent structure is built to last for approximately 20 years.
